Cupro-Nickel alloys
CuproNickel 90/10 alloys with 1,5 % iron
CuNi Fe 10 and 70/30 with 0,5% iron CuNi Fe 30
materials for pipes and tubes used in condensers and are prooved to be good in the shipping industrie as well as powerplants being cooled with seawater. Tubes made out of CuNi Fe 30 are preferred for higher temperatures and velocities (fresh water >4 up to max. 6 m/s) as well as applications were reliablility is of utmost importance.
The unique
combination of resistance against pitting to a great extent, clear away corrosion and erosion on the one hand, as well as easy machining and acceptable costs on the other hand made CuproNickel 90/10 alloys with iron to become widely spread for pipes at seawater applications.
